REFERENCE MANAGEMENT

Why use a reference management software?

A reference management software can help you collect and save references to articles, books, and other sources. Just export the data to your personal library while conducting your research. In this way you will never lose track of the literature you have found and when you start writing up your paper you can insert in-text citations and corresponding references into your paper and in the style of your choice by a simple click of your mouse.

In other words, a reference management software can help you save time and ensure that your sources are rendered correctly.

What software should I choose?

CBS Library has taken out a subscription for Mendeley but other options are available too.

We recommend that you check out the intro videos before deciding which system to use.

An important aspect of any reference management tool is its ability to interact with available text processing platforms and obviously this should also inform your decision.

Below we have organized the most popular reference management tools by text processing platform. For a more complete list and to compare, please check out this resource.
