Did you know that one of the most widely used databases at CBS is Gyldendal´s Dictionaries? Now you can download a new desktop version of the software to gain constant access to the dictionary on your local computer.

The DesktopOrdbogen is a small application that you install on your computer. The Desktop dictionary is free of charge for both students and staff. Download DesktopOrdbog to your computer.

You can use the Desktop version exactly the same way as the online version that is, to look up words, find translations and grammatical applications, identify phrases and idioms, and even hear the correct pronunciation of the word.

Hint: Go to settings to decide where you want the dictionary to appear and if you want it to open, when you start your computer. The Desktop version will look like this once downloaded:

What are the available dictionaries?
You have access to online editions of Gyldendal´s Røde Ordbøger, Gyldendal´s Store Ordbøger, Økonomisk Ordbog, and various specialized dictionaries (law and medicine) as well as a dictionary of technical terms containing some 400 000 terms.
