October 31 2017 is the deadline for all CBS RefWorks users to migrate to Mendeley. If you are engaged in a project where you use RefWorks (Write-n-Cite) for your in-text citations and you expect this project to go beyond this date, please contact us ASAP for advice on how and when to migrate.

All current CBS RefWorks users will receive e-mails with all necessary information. We have already issued the first e-mail so if you are the owner of a RefWorks account but have not received anything yet, please get in touch.

If you are already a Mendeley user and used your CBS e-mail address when signing up, you are automatically included in the CBS Institutional license that launched in early January. You might be a Mendeley user already but signed up with an e-mail other than a CBS e-mail, all you need to do is change the e-mail address in Mendeley and join the Copenhagen Business School Library Group  to get access to the enhanced institutional account.

If you never used a reference management tool, this is the chance to get started with Mendeley

New opportunities with Mendeley

Most reference management tools do the exact same job in very similar ways. Some tools, however, offer extra and enhanced features and Mendeley is a very good case in point. Thus, apart from a personal reference library and word processing integration,  Mendeley also offers a wide host of functionalities not available in RefWorks, including:

  • Smooth technical integration, e.g. in MS Word
  • Easily navigable interface
  • Reference recycling and data quality check
  • Seamless collaboration both in-house and across organizations via groups, both private and public.
  • Quick dissemination of academic production via social media platform
  • Advanced PDF annotation feature
  • Built-in altmetrics

Please direct all questions about RefWorks and Mendeley to the CBS Library reference management group (Joshua Kragh Bruhn, Liselotte Brandstrup, Mette Bechmann, and Liv Bjerge Laursen) at reftool.lib@cbs.dk.
