Moody’s DataHub is the brand new home of ORBIS historical company data and boasts two distinct advantages. It makes it easier to access and download historical company data and you no longer need to work offline with the data.
"Orbis Historical" data refers to a dataset of financials older than the past five to ten years as well as historical ownership data from 2007 onwards. Financials are available from the 1990s onwards.
Moody’s DataHub is a specialized cloud-based data portal that offers several data export solutions and allows for the running of code on its cloud.
In the previous database, data could be retrieved via search criteria and in turn be exported to Excel and other formats. In Moody's DataHub, data is available in sections of tables. The Exchange section provides an overview of available datasets. In the Exports section, data can be exported using various export methods (SFTP, AWS S3, etc.) and file formats (CSV, Avro, Parquet, and ORC).
More information
On CBSshare you will find more details about Moody's DataHub. New guides will be added along the way but for now, you will find:
- Moody’s DataHub Guide: a brief presentation of the DataHub.
- ORBIS – Data Dictionary: an overview of the available datasets, tables, and the frequency of updates.
- Guide to extracting data using Spaces
NB. The online version of ORBIS is not affected by this change and is still available from the library website.
