Using Course Readings in Canvas - Faculty: Re-use reading lists

If you want to roll over or re-use your reading lists in other courses, follow the instruction below.

  1. Go to your new Canvas course and activate Course Readings in the left menu.
    1. Leave the Course name as it is
    2. Fill in an approximate last date of the course – remember re-exams
    3. Fill in an approximate number of students
    4. Fil in your department
    5. Click “Create”

  1. Now choose “Leave this page and explore the application”.

  1. You will now see a list of your reading lists. If not, click the X to see the list.

  1. Click the 3 dots by the title of the “old” list, and choose “Roll over list”

  1. Start typing the name of the new course, then choose it.

  1. Click “roll over”. Now your old list is available in the new canvas course. IMPORTANT - you have to publish it to make it available to your students.

  1. You may want to edit the title of the list by opening the list, click the three dots by the title and click “Edit” and change the year and erase the (rolled over)
